Logo placement on Carhartt hoodies

Carhartt hoodies come with their own branding, usually a label on the pocket or chest. Battle Born Clothing places your logo so both read cleanly. Here is what goes where.

Left chest

The wearer's left chest is the default company placement. On a pullover it sits above the pouch pocket; on a zip-front it sits on the left panel, clear of the zipper. Typical width is 3 to 4 inches for adult sizes, which keeps most logos under 6,000 stitches and at our base rate. We position it a few inches below the shoulder seam so it does not ride up into the hood.

Carhartt's own label is part of the look. We size your logo to sit clear of it rather than over it.

Full back

The full back is the biggest flat panel on a hoodie and the one people see from across a yard. Typical width is 10 to 12 inches, starting a few inches below the hood seam. A full back usually runs 15,000 to 30,000 stitches, so it uses the overage pricing.

Upper back

A shorter design across the shoulders, such as a company name or a website, is a cheaper alternative to a full back. It reads well over a work vest that covers the lower back.

Sleeve

An upper-sleeve flag, a crew name, or a phone number down the forearm. Sleeves are tubes, so we keep sleeve designs narrow and simple. Most are under 6,000 stitches.

Hood

A small logo on the side of the hood is a detail people notice. The hood is a curved, two-layer panel, so we keep the design small and avoid fine text.

Center chest

Pullover hoodies have a pouch pocket and zip-fronts have a zipper, so a center-chest design really only suits a crewneck sweatshirt. On a crewneck, 8 to 10 inches wide is typical.

How placement is priced

Each location is priced on its own line of the embroidery matrix at your order's quantity tier. At 48 pieces, a 5,000-stitch left chest is $5.50, a 4,000-stitch sleeve is $5.50, and a 15,000-stitch back is $14.50. Total decoration $25.50 per piece, plus $18.99 digitizing per design. The Carhartt blank is quoted separately.

Leather patch placement

Leather patches go left chest, upper back or sleeve. A patch sits flat on knit and textured fleece where fine embroidery can get lost. See leather patches on Carhartt.

Tips

Placement for common crew setups

Field crew. Left chest plus full back. The back is what a superintendent sees from the trailer; the chest is what a customer sees at the door. At 60 pieces with a 5,000-stitch chest and an 18,000-stitch back, decoration is $4.50 + ($4.50 + 12 x $0.60) = $16.20 per piece. The Carhartt blank is quoted separately.

Service techs. Left chest plus a sleeve with the phone number. Both usually stay under 6,000 stitches, so each is the base rate for your tier.

Office and sales. Left chest only, on a quarter-zip or crewneck. Quiet and cheap: $6.00 per piece at 12-47, $4.00 at 80+.

Every tier is on our pricing page. When you are ready, send your logo for a quote.

Questions

Can I have a logo on both sleeves?

Yes. Each sleeve is its own location.
