Minimums and turnaround for custom Carhartt hoodies
The two questions every buyer asks: how few can I order, and when will they arrive. Battle Born Clothing's answers, with the numbers.
Is there a minimum order?
No hard minimum on embroidery or leather patches. You can order one hoodie. The price falls as quantity rises, so the real question is where the breaks are.
| Quantity | Embroidery |
|---|---|
| 1-11 | $12.00 |
| 12-23 | $6.00 |
| 24-47 | $6.00 |
| 48-59 | $5.50 |
| 60-79 | $4.50 |
| 80+ | $4.00 |
The biggest jump is from 1-11 to 12: the per-piece rate halves. After that, 48, 60 and 80 are the steps. Leather patches step down $0.50 every 24 pieces.
Screen print has no hard minimum either, but we recommend 48 or more; on Carhartt it is quoted per job.
Do mixed styles count together?
Yes. The tier is counted on the whole order. 20 pullovers, 20 zip-fronts and 10 crewnecks with one logo is 50 pieces at the 48-59 tier.
How long does it take?
Standard turnaround is 28 days from proof approval. Here is how a typical order runs.
| Step | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Quote | Usually the same business day |
| Digitizing and digital proof | About 2 business days |
| Production after proof approval | Up to 28 days (standard) |
| UPS Ground transit | 1-5 business days by region |
The clock starts at proof approval, not at the first email. The fastest way to an early in-hand date is to send complete information up front: art, styles, colors, sizes and date.
Transit by region
| Ship-to region | Typical transit |
|---|---|
| Nevada, California, Oregon | 1-2 days |
| Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona | 2-3 days |
| Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico | 3-4 days |
| Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri | 4-5 days |
| Midwest, South and East Coast | 5 days |
Nevada buyers can pick up at the Yerington shop by appointment.
Can I get a rush?
Rush is quoted per job. Put your in-hand date on the quote form and we will tell you what is possible and what it costs before you commit. We do not promise a date we cannot hit.
What slows an order down
- Artwork that needs to be redrawn before digitizing.
- Size runs that change after the blanks are ordered.
- A Carhartt style or color that is out of stock at our suppliers; we check SanMar's Reno warehouse first, then other warehouses and S&S Activewear.
- Proof changes that go several rounds.
Plan back from your date
Need hoodies for a safety meeting or holiday gift day? Count back: transit to you, 28 days of production, 2 days for the proof, and a day or two for you to approve. Five to six weeks out is a comfortable time to send the quote request.
Small order example
Five hoodies for a family operation, a 6,000-stitch left-chest logo: $12.00 x 5 = $60.00 plus $18.99 digitizing = $78.99 in decoration. At 12 pieces the same logo is $6.00 each, so twelve hoodies cost $72.00 in embroidery, only $12 more than five. That is why we point out the 12-piece break. The Carhartt blank is quoted separately.
Holiday and season deadlines
Fall and winter are the busy season for crew hoodies. If your hoodies are for a holiday party or a first cold snap, send the quote request early and approve the proof promptly. The 28-day window starts the day you approve, so a proof that sits for a week moves the delivery date by a week.
Every tier is on our pricing page. When you are ready, send your logo for a quote.
Questions
Can I order a single hoodie?
Yes. One piece is priced at the 1-11 tier: $12.00 embroidery up to 6,000 stitches plus $18.99 digitizing, plus the Carhartt blank.
Does the 28 days include shipping?
No. It is production time from proof approval. Transit is extra.
Can I add more hoodies later at the same tier?
A reorder is priced on its own quantity. Order together to get the best tier.
